Soup season
Mar. 20th, 2024 05:06 pmIt's now quite cool in the mornings and evenings and warm during the day which is a lovely combination. I've been making nothing but salads since December, but when I made my meal plan this week, it definitely felt like hot meal time.
This is nice because I spend all winter longing for salad, and all summer longing for soup. So since my fruit and vegetable delivery service had a special on carrots (a remarkable $1/kilo (less than 50 cents/pound), I kicked off soup season with a giant bowl of curried carrot soup. Some we'll eat tonight, the rest will go in the freezer and at some point in the future I'll be thanking my past self for my carroty efforts.
