A few years ago a dear friend knitted me some awesome cotton dishcloths. These might be kicking it old style, but they were incredibly efficient and looked pretty too. They lasted for years, but finally it's the end of the line. And now I'm a knitter, albeit a pretty crappy one, myself, it occurred to me that I could replace them with the sweat of my needles. (Ew.)

It ain't that easy finding pure cotton, in NZ at least. All I could find was 8 ply, and I'm really not sure how much water that's going to suck up. It's probably for cute little animals or something. But the most important thing is that the yarn is pretty.

It's knitted on size 4 needles, which is precisely the needles I currently have a sleeve on. And it's pathetic how much I had to wrestle with myself not to buy an extra pair so I could start the dishcloths this very minute. What is it with the lure of a new project?
