Muh freedoms!

[livejournal.com profile] bill_schubert posting about the vaccine led me to ponder about the hellscape we're about to witness once it gets going. It's going to be particularly bad in countries like the US with large numbers of people who think the vaccine is some kind of plot to kill 'em all etc, but stupidity knows no borders and to a greater or lesser extent it's going to be everywhere.

It's bad enough now in the US with long-suffering customer service people having to deal with people throwing tantrums about mask-wearing in their stores (this year, and in fact every year, anyone working in retail deserves their own statue). But it's going to get exponentially worse once everyone's had the chance to have the vaccine and businesses start barring unvaccinated people. Qantas has already said it won't accept passengers without a vaccination certificate and they're unlikely to be the only ones. How anti-vaxxers are going to react I dread to think. It's not going to be pretty.
