Serenity
A few days ago, I read on Twitter that reason one million and one to elect Joe Biden is so we can all go back to reading books at night instead of doomscrolling.
Man, did that resonate. Then I had a little epiphany and realised that I don't have to wait for that blessed (we hope) day. My obsessive doomscrolling is doing nothing for the world. It's not even my election! And things aren't going to get worse (I'd say is that even possible, but the last four years have taught us that it's actually probable, every single day) just because I look away.
What's more, I don't think I even can keep doing it. I can't look at that man, and hear that voice, any more.
So I've voted in my own election and I'm going to hope every single US Democrat does too. Meanwhile, I'll be over here, reading a book.
