I was right, the humungous amount of damson plum blossom managed to avoid being blown off and resulted in a humungous number of plums. While I love damson jam, I also love birds, so I netted half the tree and let the birds nom the plums on the other half. After all, there are plenty for everyone.



Since it's the hottest month of the year and I'm about to leave for the beach, I have no intention of cranking out a zillion jars of damson jam just yet. So they're going in the freezer, which has the added benefit that when damsons are half-defrosted it's a lot easier to get the stones out. Given that damsons sometimes seem like 90% stone, that's no small thing.
